Sydney Sixers defeated Perth Scorchers by 15 runs to claim their first T20 Spring Challenge title at Cricket Central. Erin Burns top-scored with 41 from 36 balls and took one for 21 as the Sixers posted 149 for eight.

Katie Mack made 23 and Mikayla Friday scored 31 in the Scorchers’ chase, but the Sixers spinners restricted the scoring after the powerplay. Juliette Morton claimed two for 21 while Burns removed Chloe Piparo.

The win gives the Sixers momentum ahead of their Weber WBBL|12 opener against Brisbane Heat on October 30. Hobart Hurricanes had won the previous two editions of the competition.

CricHubb Take

Sixers’ success rested on domestic depth rather than overseas signings. That model may influence how other WBBL sides approach list construction this season.
