Australia add Maddinson and Harper to South Africa Test squad
Australia added Nic Maddinson and Sam Harper to their Test squad as cover for injured players ahead of the South Africa series.
Australia added Nic Maddinson and Sam Harper to their 18-man squad for the three-match Test series against South Africa starting October 9 in Durban. Maddinson returns to the Test squad after nearly a decade following his recovery from testicular cancer last year. Harper provides wicketkeeping cover after Josh Inglis fractured his right index finger. Cameron Green remains a doubt for the first Test with an abdominal strain. Maddinson scored a match-winning 126 in New South Wales' recent ODI against Victoria. Harper made 677 runs in the 2025-26 Sheffield Shield season and scored 128 for Australia A against India A this week. The series will be played in Durban, Gqeberha and Johannesburg.
