Joe Root expressed frustration after Brydon Carse was dropped for Lord's Test

England captain Joe Root said he is hacked off after fast bowler Brydon Carse was dropped from the second Test squad following a nightclub incident in Derby. Carse was filmed in handcuffs outside a Derby nightclub on Saturday night. The England and Wales Cricket Board has launched an investigation and removed Carse from the squad for the second Test against Pakistan at Lord's, which starts on Thursday.

Root told the squad ahead of the match that another off-field lapse had overshadowed England's recent innings victory at Headingley. Josh Tongue said the captain's message on professionalism and off-field standards had been fully heeded. England won the first Test of their series against Pakistan by an innings and 103 runs at Headingley.

Sonny Baker has been called up to replace Carse in the 15-man squad. Root stated that repeated off-field incidents by England players undermine the team's on-field achievements.
