Gannon's five-wicket haul bowls South Australia out for 203; Queensland reach 63 for 2
Cameron Gannon's five for 42 helped bowl South Australia out for 203 despite fifties from Jake Lehmann and Nathan McSweeney, leaving Queensland at 63 for 2 at stumps.
Cameron Gannon took five for 42 as South Australia were dismissed for 203 on the opening day of their Sheffield Shield match against Queensland at Adelaide. Jake Lehmann made 62 and Nathan McSweeney scored 54.
Queensland reached 63 for 2 at stumps in reply, with Ben Burdon unbeaten on 39. The visitors lost two wickets in the final session after a steady start.
Gannon's figures came in a 17-over spell that broke a 120-run partnership between Lehmann and McSweeney. South Australia will need early wickets on day two to restrict Queensland's advantage.
CricHubb Take
Gannon's spell turned the day after South Australia looked set for a larger total. Queensland's openers will need to build on Burdon's start if they are to avoid a repeat of the middle-order collapses that have hurt them this season.
