Mohsin Naqvi skips Asian Games men's cricket final

Mohsin Naqvi missed the Asian Games men's cricket final due to prior commitments.

Asian Cricket Council president Mohsin Naqvi did not attend the men's cricket final between India and Pakistan at the Asian Games 2026. The PCB chief cited prior commitments for his absence from the match in Nisshin.

BCCI chief Devajit Saikia was present for the final. Jay Shah presented the gold medals to the Indian team after their 19-run win. A senior organising committee official presented silver medals to Pakistan.

Naqvi's absence avoided any protocol issues over medal presentation. Indian teams had previously refused to accept trophies from him at the Asia Cup finals following the Pahalgam terror attack.

Naqvi's absence removes the last diplomatic flashpoint from an event already stripped of handshakes and routine protocol.
