Bangladesh Cricket Board president Tamim Iqbal said Bangladesh should have been part of the 2026 T20 World Cup. He added that the board is exploring a new window with the BCCI for the postponed India series.

Iqbal described the discussions with the Indian board as fruitful and remains hopeful the six-match white-ball tour will take place early next year. He urged that sports remain separate from political disputes.

Cricinfo reported the proposed series could begin in the first quarter of 2027, though no dates have been confirmed.

The absence from the T20 World Cup is being framed as a scheduling issue rather than a performance-based exclusion.
