Saltburn Cricket Club has suspended a player nicknamed 'Clicky Ponting' after he was accused of clicking his fingers to fake an edge during a local league match in England. The video was viewed over 7.5 million times on X and sparked widespread criticism.

The North Yorkshire and South Durham Cricket League has expressed 'genuine concern for the welfare' of Saltburn members as it continues its inquiry. The club said it is treating the allegations very seriously and the player will not play again in the foreseeable future. Saltburn also conceded Wednesday's second-team cup fixture while the investigation continues.

The concession of the cup fixture is the quiet part — it tells the rest of the league Saltburn won't risk fielding a side that can't be trusted to finish a match.
