SA20 auction signings count down to season five start in January 2027
SA20's newest signings, including Jason Rowles, Oliver Whitehead, Temba Bavuma and Craig Overton, have expressed excitement ahead of season five starting on 17 January 2027.
Less than 100 days out from the 17 January 2027 start, the league's newest faces are already talking. Joburg Super Kings' Jason Rowles called his hometown selection a dream come true. Under-23 all-rounder Oliver Whitehead can't wait to play for MI Cape Town at Newlands.
Pretoria Capitals signed Proteas captain Temba Bavuma, who sat out the last two seasons. He said he's looking forward to playing under Keshav Maharaj and pushing the team past two straight runner-up finishes. Craig Overton returns to Sunrisers Eastern Cape and said he's buzzing to play in front of the Orange Army again.
Season five opens with a rematch of last season's final: Sunrisers Eastern Cape host Pretoria Capitals at St George's Park.

Bavuma's return after two missed seasons means Pretoria Capitals now have a proven match-winner to lean on when the playoffs arrive — something they lacked in those two runner-up campaigns.
