Misbah-ul-Haq has offered to resign as Pakistan selector following the PCB's decision to release seven players and two coaches from the squad during the England tour.

The board made the changes after Pakistan's 194-run defeat at Lord's. Imam-ul-Haq faces a separate inquiry over his calf injury that ruled him out of both innings.

The third Test begins on September 9 at Edgbaston. Pakistan trail the series 0-2.
