Vaibhav Sooryavanshi left the field with an injury during the second innings of the Asian Games 2026 final against Pakistan at Korogi Sports Park in Nisshin on Saturday. The 15-year-old collided with spinner Ravi Bishnoi while attempting to catch a miscued hit from Hasan Nawaz in the ninth over.

Sooryavanshi scored 15 off nine balls in India's innings before his dismissal. He struck two sixes early in the innings but fell attempting a reverse hit against Saim Ayub. India finished with 211 for six after Tilak Varma's unbeaten 51 off 22 balls.

India defeated Pakistan by 19 runs to retain the gold medal. Sooryavanshi is part of India's squad for the upcoming T20I series against West Indies that begins on Tuesday.

CricHubb Take

Sooryavanshi's early exit matters less for the final result than for the T20I series that follows. If the injury keeps him out of the West Indies matches, India lose the only batter who has shown he can clear the powerplay against quality spin without needing time to settle.
