Sussex have signed South African seamer Keith Dudgeon on a two-year contract. Dudgeon, 30, took 42 wickets in Kent's promotion-winning County Championship Division Two campaign in 2026. Sussex director of cricket Paul Farbrace said Dudgeon is the quality of player the county needs to compete in Division One and aim for knockout stages in the Blast.

Across his career Dudgeon has taken 281 first-class wickets at an average of 26.96. The seamer said county cricket has been his long-term goal and he is grateful for the backing from Sussex. He added that he is looking forward to joining the dressing room and contributing in whatever way he can.

Dudgeon joins Sussex after spells at other counties and will bolster their pace attack for the 2027 season.

Dudgeon's move from Kent to Sussex follows a familiar pattern of overseas seamers finding regular county opportunities after strong Division Two campaigns.
