The BCCI has banned India U-19 leg-spinner Rohit Yadav for two years after the Cricket Association of Bengal found discrepancies in his date of birth records. Yadav, who is originally from Uttar Pradesh, had travelled with the India Under-19 side to Sri Lanka in July and was later named for the upcoming series against Australia in Rajkot.
The Cricket Association of Bengal flagged multiple changes in his date of birth documents and placed him among 62 other players facing similar documentation issues. Yadav has been removed from the India U-19 squad with immediate effect.
The Cricket Association of Bengal has banned 65 cricketers in total over age-related irregularities. The BCCI is expected to review the broader list of affected players in the coming weeks.
