Perth Scorchers sign Pakistan captain Fatima Sana for WBBL 12
Perth Scorchers sign Pakistan captain Fatima Sana for the opening eight matches of WBBL 12.
Perth Scorchers have signed Pakistan captain Fatima Sana for the first eight matches of WBBL 12. The 24-year-old all-rounder becomes only the second Pakistan player to appear in the competition after Nida Dar.
Sana said she had long watched the league from Pakistan and called the move a dream come true. She will wear Scorchers colours at the WACA Ground after previously representing Birmingham Phoenix in The Hundred this year.
The Karachi-born right-arm bowler was the first Pakistan woman to win an ICC award when she was named Emerging Cricketer of the Year in 2021. She has already taken 31 wickets and scored 540 runs in T20Is during 2026, the most by any Pakistan woman in the format this year.

Sana's arrival gives the Scorchers a genuine overseas all-round option who has already proved she can perform across three different T20 leagues in one calendar year. The eight-match window is short, but her current form suggests immediate impact at the WACA.
