Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was dismissed for 92 in the Duleep Trophy semifinal against Central Zone at the BCCI Centre of Excellence Ground in Bengaluru. He fell eight runs short of Sachin Tendulkar's record for the youngest first-class century in the tournament.

The 15-year-old became the youngest player to score a half-century in Duleep Trophy history, reaching fifty off 42 balls. He hit seven fours and seven sixes during his innings for East Zone.

Sooryavanshi had captained East Zone after Ishan Kishan suffered a finger injury. East Zone were bowled out for 266 on day two.
