Imam-ul-Haq and Mohammad Rizwan were back on the field on October 20, cleared by the PCB even though Pakistan's National Cyber Crimes Investigation Agency is still looking into alleged dressing-room leaks from the England tour.

Imam batted through for OGDCL against Ghani, finishing on 118 off 196 balls with eleven fours. He added 88 for the second wicket and then 173 for the fourth as OGDCL replied with 277 for three after Ghani made 232. Rizwan, for SNGPL against KRL, made 64 off 81 before his side were dismissed for 195.

Both men were sent home with five others after Pakistan's second-Test defeat at Lord's. Imam had already drawn extra questions from chief selector Aaqib Javed over his fitness claim. No charges have been laid and the investigation is still open.

The real test will come when the investigation wraps up—whether the PCB's willingness to let them play now sets a precedent for other cases or simply buys time until the next national call-up.
