Harmanpreet Kaur stepped down after leading India to the ODI World Cup and multiple other titles.

Harmanpreet Kaur announced her decision to step down as India captain on Tuesday. She posted a message on Instagram that has had 1.4 million views and about 30,500 comments.

Harmanpreet led India to the ODI World Cup title last year and the WPL title with Mumbai Indians in the inaugural edition. She also captained the side to the Asia Cup and gold at the Asian Games.

She led India in 51 ODIs and 155 T20Is. The team crushed England in a Test at Lord's earlier this year, her fifth Test as captain.
