Kris Srikkanth says Naman Dhir has finished Washington Sundar's T20I chances

Kris Srikkanth believes Naman Dhir has replaced Washington Sundar as India's off-spin-bowling all-rounder in white-ball cricket.

Kris Srikkanth said that Naman Dhir's rise has effectively ended Washington Sundar's chances in white-ball cricket. Dhir had a memorable T20I debut on Tuesday, picking up 3/31 in four overs against West Indies in Lucknow.

Srikkanth said Dhir's spell was proof enough that the Impact Player rule should be scrapped in the IPL. He added that Dhir is an intelligent bowler who envisions himself batting and knows how one would bowl to him.

Dhir is only the third spinner after Pragyan Ojha and Axar Patel to pick up three or more wickets on T20I debut. Srikkanth said Dhir has everything, including luck, and will take loads of wickets even in the upcoming IPL.

CricHubb Take

Srikkanth's verdict treats debut figures as decisive. The risk is that Dhir's control in a low-pressure game gets read as permanent superiority over a player whose selection history shows resilience through injury cycles.
