Pakistan batted first at Rawalpindi on Sunday and posted 305 for nine. Salman Agha made a century that set the platform, and the total proved 37 runs too many for Sri Lanka, who were bowled out for 268 in 48.1 overs.

Shaheen Afridi led the attack with three for 55. Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf and Faheem Ashraf each claimed two wickets. Pavan Rathnayake made 79 and Janith Liyanage 60, but Sri Lanka lost their way after the 119-run stand for the fifth wicket ended.

The tri-series continues with all three teams involved.

Agha’s hundred and the four quicks sharing eight wickets gave Pakistan a template they can repeat at home — the other two sides will see the same conditions and know exactly what they have to match.
