ECB schedules men's and women's Ashes to run concurrently in 2027
ECB confirms packed 2027 home summer with concurrent men's and women's Ashes plus Pakistan, Bangladesh and New Zealand visits.
The England and Wales Cricket Board released its 2027 home schedule on Wednesday. The men's and women's Ashes will run side by side across the summer, with Pakistan, Bangladesh and New Zealand also visiting. The World Test Championship final sits at The Oval.
Pakistan line up three ODIs, Bangladesh a Test series, and white-ball fixtures against New Zealand and Bangladesh women round out the card. Venues for every format are set.
Running the Ashes together is a deliberate shift. It gives the women's side equal billing in the biggest bilateral series of the English summer, and the ECB says the move is meant to spread resources and attention more evenly between the two programmes.

Scheduling the Ashes in tandem means the ECB now has to decide how the broadcast calendar and ticket packages split attention — and whether the women's matches risk being treated as support acts rather than equal draws.
