Rovman Powell and Sherfane Rutherford reprimanded for Code of Conduct breaches

Powell and Rutherford each receive one demerit point after Ranchi T20I Code breaches.

West Indies players Rovman Powell and Sherfane Rutherford have each been reprimanded and docked one demerit point after the second T20I against India in Ranchi.

Powell abused cricket equipment after Mayank Yadav dismissed him, striking the ball away in frustration. Rutherford showed dissent at an umpire's decision in the 13th over. Both players admitted the offences and accepted the sanctions without a hearing.

On-field umpires Jayaraman Madanagopal and Rohan Pandit, along with third umpire Nitin Menon and fourth umpire Virender Sharma, reported the incidents. These are the players' first offences inside the 24-month window, so Level 1 breaches carry only a reprimand and a possible fine of up to half their match fees.

CricHubb Take

With one demerit point each already, Powell and Rutherford can only afford two more slips before they miss a T20 World Cup game, and the rest of the series will test how quickly they tighten up.
