West Indies add Amir Jangoo as cover for injured Jewel Andrew
Jangoo steps in for Andrew, who hurt his finger during the ODI series, ahead of the T20Is starting Tuesday.
West Indies have added wicketkeeper-batter Amir Jangoo to their T20I squad for the five-match series against India. Jangoo replaces Jewel Andrew, who suffered a finger injury during the third ODI in New Chandigarh on October 3. Andrew was injured while completing the catch of Naman Dhir.
Scans ruled out a fracture, but Andrew remains under observation by the West Indies medical team. He was unable to open the innings during the chase of 352, with captain Shai Hope moving up the order. Jangoo has played seven T20Is since his debut in December 2024.
Jangoo scored 239 runs in the ODI series, including 58 not out, 114 and 67. He finished third on the run-scorers list across both teams. The first T20I begins in Lucknow on October 6.

Jangoo's inclusion gives West Indies a proven ODI performer who can adapt to T20 conditions, while Andrew's injury creates uncertainty about their wicketkeeping options for the full series.
