Carse faces a disciplinary hearing after a nightclub incident in August. Police dropped assault allegations, but the ECB Regulator has referred the case to an independent panel.

England seamer Brydon Carse has been charged by the Cricket Regulator with breaching ECB professional conduct regulations after an incident outside a Derby nightclub on August 23. The charge falls under regulation 3.2, which covers conduct that may bring the ECB or the game into disrepute.

Derbyshire Police investigated separate assault allegations and closed the case without further action. The Regulator's proceedings will now move to the independent Cricket Discipline Panel for adjudication, with a hearing expected within weeks.

Carse remains available for selection and retains his two-year central contract. He was omitted from recent England squads for Pakistan and Sri Lanka but has continued playing for Durham. The ECB said it will not comment while the process continues.

The timing leaves Stephen Fleming without a clear resolution before naming his squad for the South Africa Test tour. Any sanction handed down after that point would force an in-tour adjustment rather than a pre-tour omission.
