India bowl first at Eden Park after two changes

India made two changes and chose to bowl first at Eden Park, where Mayank Yadav struck twice in the Powerplay.

India won the toss and elected to bowl in the fourth T20I at Eden Park on Friday. The visitors made two changes to the playing XI, bringing in Ishan Kishan and Mayank Yadav while leaving out Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. New Zealand were without Lockie Ferguson and Matt Henry, both ruled out by injury, with Matt Fisher named as Ferguson's replacement.

Mayank Yadav took two wickets in the Powerplay to leave New Zealand at 112 for four after 10.4 overs, with Glenn Phillips unbeaten on 43. New Zealand reached 212 for four in 16.1 overs, led by Glenn Phillips' unbeaten 90 off 42 balls and Michael Bracewell's unbeaten 51 off 19 balls. Mayank Yadav finished with three for 34.

Tilak Varma said the side's approach at numbers five and six is to take the game as deep as possible. Prasidh Krishna has not played competitive cricket since September 30. India are set to experiment with squad selection in the remaining matches, potentially giving game time to Kuldeep Yadav and Varun Chakaravarthy.
