Bengal have appointed Abhimanyu Easwaran as captain and included Mohammed Shami for the 2026-27 Ranji Trophy.

Bengal have named Abhimanyu Easwaran as captain for the 2026-27 Ranji Trophy season, with Mohammed Shami included in the 17-man squad. The side opens its campaign against Delhi at the Bengal Cricket Academy ground in Kalyani from October 11 to 14.

Sudip Gharami will serve as vice-captain. The squad also includes Sudip Chatterjee, Abishek Porel, Shakir Gandhi, Ankur Paul, Sumanta Gupta, Ankit Shukla, Subham Chetterjee, Akash Deep, Mukesh Kumar, Suraj Jaiswal, Pradipta Pramanik, Aamir Gani, Mohammed Kaif and Soummyadeep Mandal. Six players remain on standby.

Bengal reached the semi-finals last season before losing to eventual champions Jammu and Kashmir. The first leg of the Ranji Trophy runs until November 5, with the second leg beginning in January and knockouts scheduled from February 9.
