Abishek Porel scores century on return after bail in rape case
Abishek Porel scored 114 not out on his return to first-class cricket days after being released on bail in an alleged rape case.
Abishek Porel had not played since IPL 2026 ended. After his arrest he was left off Bengal's initial probables, then added to the XI once bail came through. On day two in Kalyani he made 114 not out, sharing an unbroken 199 with Sudip Gharami, who finished 122 not out. Bengal closed at 304 for 3 against Delhi.
Porel said the time away taught him to speak through his bat. Delhi's first innings had closed at 240, leaving Bengal 64 runs ahead with seven wickets standing.
