Anrich Nortje says he is preparing for a Test return against Australia

Anrich Nortje said he is rebuilding his red-ball workload ahead of South Africa’s Test series against Australia.

South Africa fast bowler Anrich Nortje said he has been working on his red-ball skills ahead of the three-Test series against Australia starting October 9. Nortje last played a Test in March 2023.

Nortje has not played first-class cricket since that match but has focused on building his workload and refining his action with bowling coach Piet Botha. He said the prospect of facing Australia has added motivation.

Fitness concerns have limited his red-ball opportunities in recent years, but Nortje said he remains eager to wear the Test cap again.
