Ayush Badoni scores sixth first-class century for Delhi

Badoni's unbeaten century helped Delhi reach 309 for five against Jharkhand on day one.

Ayush Badoni scored his sixth first-class century on day one of Delhi's Ranji Trophy match against Jharkhand at the JSCA International Stadium in Ranchi. The Delhi captain remained unbeaten on 106 as the visitors reached 309 for five at stumps.

Badoni shared an unbroken 128-run partnership with Sumit Mathur, who finished on 50. The stand followed a 167-run alliance between the pair in Delhi's previous match against Gujarat. Mathur said batting alongside Badoni makes scoring easier because the captain takes the attack to spin while he builds his innings.

Delhi made one change to the squad, bringing in uncapped left-arm spinner Aman Chaudhary after resting pacer Navdeep Saini. Jharkhand promoted opener Shikhar Mohan to the India-A squad, forcing at least one change to their side.
