Harshit Rana ruled out of Afghanistan T20I series

India fast bowler Harshit Rana will miss the three-match T20I series against Afghanistan starting on September 13. A BCCI source said Rana has not fully recovered from a hamstring injury and needs more time.

Rana last played for India during the England tour and was also named in the Asian Games squad. Washington Sundar, who suffered a similar injury, has been cleared to play.

Jasprit Bumrah and Nitish Reddy remain subject to fitness checks after knee and quadriceps issues respectively. Both players are reported to be on track for a comeback after the Afghanistan series.
