Mohammad Rizwan cleared to captain SNGPL in President's Trophy final round
Rizwan receives PCB clearance after an NCCIA inquiry delay and will lead SNGPL in the President's Trophy final round starting October 19.
Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan has been cleared to resume domestic cricket and will captain Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited against Khan Research Laboratories in the President's Trophy Grade-I final round starting October 19. The PCB's director of domestic cricket issued the clearance on October 18 after an inquiry by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency into online betting and gambling.
Rizwan had been omitted from the opening rounds despite being named vice-captain of SNGPL. He was summoned twice by the NCCIA after returning from the England Test series, with his phone taken into custody. The Lahore High Court dismissed his petition seeking the return of the device. SNGPL sit at the bottom of the eight-team table with one defeat and five draws and face relegation without a strong result against third-placed KRL at the Shoaib Akhtar Stadium in Rawalpindi.
Rizwan is still waiting for an NOC to play in the Nepal Premier League. The PCB is expected to grant the certificate once the President's Trophy ends. He is also confirmed to represent Peshawar in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy next month.
