Naman Dhir credits Jadeja advice for bowling plans ahead of third West Indies ODI

Naman Dhir said tips from Ravindra Jadeja shaped his simple bowling approach after he returned 0 for 38 in the second ODI against West Indies.

Naman Dhir said Ravindra Jadeja's guidance on line and length helped him bowl with a simple plan in the second ODI against West Indies. The all-rounder returned 0 for 38 from 6.1 overs in Guwahati on a pitch that yielded 405 for seven. Dhir told reporters in New Chandigarh on Friday that he identified one long boundary for right-handers and stuck to basics rather than experimenting.

Dhir added that the team wants to restrict West Indies earlier in the third ODI after leaking runs in the previous match. The Punjab all-rounder has not batted in the first two ODIs but is expected to bat at No. 6 or 7. The series is already decided 2-0 in India's favour, making the final match a dead rubber.

The third ODI at New Chandigarh on Saturday is the first men's ODI hosted at the newly built venue. Dhir said he expects 290-300 to be a competitive total on the pitch.
