Rashid Khan took six wickets for 34 runs as Afghanistan beat Ireland by 92 runs in the second ODI at Bready. Afghanistan posted 299 for eight in a rain-shortened 47-over innings, with Ibrahim Zadran scoring 84. Ireland were dismissed for 207 in 33.4 overs during Gary Wilson's first match as head coach.
Rashid accounted for Andrew Balbirnie, Harry Tector, Curtis Campher and Ben Calitz among his six victims. Azmatullah Omarzai dismissed Ireland captain Paul Stirling and Cade Carmichael, who top-scored with 62. Afghanistan have now won seven consecutive ODIs against Ireland dating back to 2019.
The tourists lead the five-match series 2-0 after the opener was washed out without a ball being bowled. The series is preparation for the 2027 World Cup qualifiers, which begin next year.
