India head coach Gautam Gambhir confirmed that Sanju Samson got a full explanation for his omission from the Zimbabwe T20I squad, and the door isn't shut on a return for the England series.

Ravichandran Ashwin waded in to criticise the decision, calling it simply unfair. The timing's awkward: Samson just signed with Chennai Super Kings for the 2026 IPL season, swapping the franchise environment that helped build his name.
