Ramesh questions Zaheer Khan's appointment as CSK head coach

Former India batter Sadagoppan Ramesh questioned Zaheer Khan's appointment as Chennai Super Kings head coach and advised keeping fingers crossed for his success. Ramesh noted Zaheer's limited coaching experience before the IPL role.

Ramesh compared the appointment to Ashish Nehra's success with Gujarat Titans and said CSK saw that model and wanted to try something similar. He said Zaheer was a great cricketer but his only coaching experience was with Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants.

Zaheer replaces Stephen Fleming who guided CSK to five IPL titles and two Champions League titles during his 18-year tenure. The franchise parted ways with Fleming after CSK failed to reach the playoffs for a third successive season.
