Suryakumar Yadav admits lack of effort in ODI cricket

Suryakumar Yadav said he takes the blame for not succeeding in the 50-over format. The Mumbai Indians batter admitted he did not put in the required effort to master ODI cricket and that the gap remains a regret.
He said the longer format proved more complex than T20 cricket and that he struggled to learn how to construct an innings. Yadav scored 773 runs in 35 ODI innings at an average of 25.76 and a strike rate of over 105, with four fifties and a highest score of 72 not-out.
Yadav added that he had been planning for the next two years when the BCCI informed him it was time to move on from the T20I captaincy. He said being removed as captain came as a shock.
