Suryansh Shedge and Angkrish Raghuvanshi have been included in Mumbai's squad for their Ranji Trophy fixture against Himachal Pradesh starting Sunday. Raghuvanshi replaces Ayush Mhatre, who sustained a Grade 4 right hamstring tear during the season opener against Chandigarh. Shedge comes in for Yashasvi Jaiswal, who has joined the India A squad for its tour of New Zealand.

Mhatre was ruled out for four to six weeks after scans confirmed the severity of the injury. The vice-captain had returned from a previous hamstring issue sustained while playing for Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2026. He scored 48 in the first innings against Chandigarh before the injury ruled him out of further participation.

Mumbai began their campaign with an innings victory over Chandigarh inside three days. Raghuvanshi is likely to open alongside Divyaansh Saxena against Himachal Pradesh.

CricHubb Take

Mhatre's second hamstring injury in six months raises questions about workload management for young batters moving between IPL and first-class cricket.
