Suryansh Shedge wants to be Mumbai's strike bowler and primary batter. He impressed for India A and prepares for the Ranji Trophy opener against Himachal Pradesh.

Suryansh Shedge said he wants to become the all-rounder Mumbai turns to in pressure situations. The 22-year-old scored 79 runs and took five wickets in three unofficial ODIs for India A against Australia A, raising his chances of a maiden senior call-up. His immediate focus remains Mumbai's Ranji Trophy opener against Himachal Pradesh in Bilaspur on Sunday.

Shedge credited time at the Centre of Excellence for improvements in skill and mentality. He sought advice from Hardik Pandya and coaches on game sense and bowling variations. The Mumbai all-rounder said preparation removes doubt on match day, and he now aims to perform with equal intensity whether batting or bowling.

Shedge keeps a diary to clear his mind after difficult moments. He said senior players advised him to forget setbacks quickly so the next day improves. A possible New Zealand tour selection has been discussed, but he said the Ranji season comes first.

Shedge's push for dual responsibility marks a shift from specialist support roles toward genuine all-round utility in Mumbai's middle order.
