West Indies level series with 24-run win in Hyderabad T20I
West Indies levelled the T20I series 2-2 after Hope's century and Paul's five-wicket haul restricted India to 223.
West Indies took a 24-run win in the fourth T20I at Hyderabad on Wednesday, pulling the five-match series level at 2-2. Shai Hope struck an unbeaten 102 off 50 balls and Keemo Paul claimed five for 41 as the visitors defended 247 for three, leaving the decider set for Bengaluru on 17 October.
Sanju Samson made 56 off 23 balls and Tilak Varma scored 43, yet Paul removed two middle-order batters and struck again late to break the chase. India reached 223 for nine in 19.3 overs. Paul also sent back Axar Patel and bowled Prince Yadav for a duck.
Hope’s century laid the base for a stiff target. The bowlers then kept taking wickets at steady intervals through India’s innings. The win marked the first time West Indies had successfully defended a total against India in India in T20Is.
