India opener Sanju Samson has identified Tilak Varma's dismissal as the turning point in India's 24-run defeat to West Indies in the fourth T20I in Hyderabad. When Tilak and Nitish Kumar Reddy joined forces, India needed 118 runs from 50 deliveries at 130 for five.

Samson said the partnership gave India hope of pulling off a thriller, but Tilak's wicket shifted momentum. He described the partnership between the two young cricketers as a great thing to have, even after losing five wickets, and noted that they were taking the pressure and batting really well.

With the win, West Indies have levelled the series 2-2. The final T20I will be played on Saturday in Bengaluru. Samson said India were charged up for the decider and had to give credit to West Indies for dominating two games at home.

The 70-run stand between Varma and Reddy showed India's middle order can handle pressure, but the absence of a finisher after their dismissals remains the structural gap.
