India defeated Pakistan by 19 runs to win the Asian Games men's cricket gold medal in Nisshin on Saturday. India posted 211 for 6, led by Abhishek Sharma's 61 off 28 balls and Tilak Varma's unbeaten 51 off 22. Shivam Dube contributed 27 off 15 in a late surge.

Pakistan were well placed at 76 for 3 after 10 overs but could not maintain the required rate. Hasan Nawaz scored 96 off 51 balls before Dube dismissed him on the final ball. Axar Patel and Washington Sundar took two wickets each to restrict Pakistan to 192 for 6.

The victory marked India's seventh successive T20I win over Pakistan since 2021. Both the Indian men's and women's teams are now reigning Asia Cup champions and Asian Games gold medalists.

India's ability to defend a total on a two-paced pitch against Pakistan, after a middle-order wobble, shows the depth that allowed them to win despite not posting a collective batting performance.
