Tilak Varma says his dismissal turned India's chase in Hyderabad
Tilak Varma pinpointed his wicket as the decisive moment in India's failed pursuit of 248 against West Indies in Hyderabad.
Tilak Varma identified his own dismissal as the moment India lost control of their chase against West Indies in Hyderabad on Wednesday. He was out for 43 after a 70-run partnership with Nitish Kumar Reddy had brought the target within reach.
India needed 48 runs from 19 balls when Romario Shepherd dismissed Varma. West Indies went on to win by 24 runs and level the series 2-2. Sanju Samson had earlier said the middle-order pair had the chase under control until that point.
Varma said the side must stay positive ahead of the decider in Bengaluru on Saturday. He added that mistakes are bound to happen in high-pressure chases.

Varma's willingness to call out his own dismissal publicly may ease internal pressure on the middle order but also places the onus on him to deliver in the series decider where India cannot afford another middle-order collapse.
