Shaheen Shah Afridi claimed his 150th ODI wicket during Pakistan's fourth tri-series match against England at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Sunday. The left-arm pacer dismissed Tom Banton in the first over to reach the landmark. He became the fastest Pakistani fast bowler to the milestone, surpassing Waqar Younis and Shoaib Akhtar who each took 91 matches.

Afridi needed 80 matches to reach 150 wickets, matching India's Mohammed Shami and Afghanistan's Rashid Khan. Only former spinner Saqlain Mushtaq reached the mark quicker among Pakistani bowlers, doing so in 78 matches. Afridi also dismissed Joe Root later in the innings.

Pakistan won the toss and elected to field. England are seeking their first win of the tournament after losing their opening match to Pakistan by 87 runs.

CricHubb Take

Afridi's strike rate of 26.3 ranks him second among full-member bowlers with 100-plus ODI wickets. The pace attack's workload management will determine whether Pakistan can sustain this edge through the 2027 World Cup cycle.
