Tushar Deshpande takes four as Mumbai bowl out Himachal for 140
Tushar Deshpande's four-wicket haul helped Mumbai dismiss Himachal Pradesh for 140 on day one of their Ranji Trophy match.
Tushar Deshpande claimed four for 46 as Mumbai bowled Himachal Pradesh out for 140 on the opening day of their Ranji Trophy Group D match at Luhnu Cricket Ground. Deshpande struck with his first ball to dismiss Shubham Arora and later removed Nehal Wadhera and Akash Vasisht. Mohit Avasthi and Sylvester D'Souza supported with one and two wickets respectively.
Pukhraj Mann and Vaibhav Kalta added 66 for the fourth wicket before Tanush Kotian broke the stand. Substitute wicketkeeper Hardik Tamore took two sharp catches after Akash Anand reported finger discomfort. The surface offered good bounce that Mumbai's pacers exploited throughout the innings.
Mumbai reached 107 for two in reply, with Siddhesh Lad unbeaten on 32 and Musheer Khan on 34. The pair added an unbroken 75 runs for the third wicket after Divyaansh Saxena and Angkrish Raghuvanshi fell early. Mumbai trail by 33 runs with eight wickets remaining.

Deshpande's early-season form with the new ball gives Mumbai a genuine strike bowler who can exploit conditions on the first morning, something they have lacked in recent Ranji campaigns.
