ICC chairman Jay Shah congratulated the BCCI and both Indian teams on their fourth Asian Games cricket gold across two editions. He also praised officials Lon Saikia and Mithun Manhas, coaches Amol Muzumdar and VVS Laxman, and captains Harmanpreet Kaur and Shreyas Iyer for their contributions.

India's men beat Pakistan by 19 runs in the final at Nisshin to defend their title, with Abhishek Sharma scoring 61 and Tilak Varma unbeaten on 51. The women earlier defeated Sri Lanka by 147 runs to claim their second successive gold.

India finished the Games with 85 medals, including 21 golds, after fielding a 500-strong contingent across 43 sports.

CricHubb Take

The double gold at the Asian Games shows India's depth across both formats, but the absence of senior white-ball players like Shreyas Iyer from the ongoing West Indies ODI series highlights the scheduling strain on the middle order.
