Virat Kohli passes 15,000 ODI runs
Virat Kohli became the second batter to reach 15,000 ODI runs during India's eight-wicket win over West Indies.
Virat Kohli hit an unbeaten 139 off 88 balls as India beat West Indies by eight wickets in the first ODI in Thiruvananthapuram. The innings took him past 15,000 ODI runs, making him the second batter after Sachin Tendulkar to reach the milestone.
Shubman Gill also scored 110 off 108 balls in the chase of 296, which India completed in 41.4 overs. West Indies had posted 295 for seven, with Justin Greaves scoring 101 off 108 balls. Kuldeep Yadav took four for 40 to restrict the visitors.
Kohli moved to second in the ICC ODI batting rankings with 796 points, 20 behind Gill. The second ODI is scheduled for Guwahati on Wednesday.
