Kohli trains at Brabourne ahead of five-match New Zealand ODI series
Kohli prepares for his ODI return as India name split squads for the New Zealand series.
Virat Kohli conducted an intense net session at Mumbai's Brabourne Stadium on Saturday ahead of India's five-match ODI series against New Zealand. The series begins on November 4 at Eden Park in Auckland, marking Kohli's first competitive appearance since his last ODI against West Indies on October 3.
Kohli will feature in all five ODIs. Shubman Gill will captain the first three matches with Shreyas Iyer as vice-captain, after which Gill and other Test-focused players will exit the squad. Iyer will lead the final two ODIs, with Ishan Kishan serving as his deputy.
India's squad for the first three ODIs includes Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Axar Patel, Naman Dhir and Mohammed Siraj. The fourth and fifth ODIs will feature Tilak Varma, Kumar Kushagra and Yash Thakur instead of Rahul, Kishan and Prasidh Krishna.
