Shai Hope struck an unbeaten 162 as West Indies chased down India's 352 to win the third ODI by five wickets at the New PCA Stadium in New Chandigarh on Saturday. The captain's innings secured a consolation victory and prevented a series whitewash.

India posted 351 for seven after KL Rahul's unbeaten 129 and Rohit Sharma's 92. Jayden Seales took three wickets for the visitors. Hope and Amir Jangoo added 109 for the second wicket before Virat Kohli's direct hit removed Jangoo for 67. Hope and Keemo Paul then finished the chase with ten balls to spare.

India won the three-match series 2-1. West Indies made three changes to their T20I squad after the match, adding Amir Jangoo as cover for injured wicketkeeper Jewel Andrew.

Hope's innings underlined how West Indies' white-ball captain remains the fulcrum of their batting even as the squad undergoes rapid T20I transition.
