India complete Asian Games cricket double with gold in both men's and women's events
India's men defended their title while the women won gold, completing a historic double at the continental event.
India completed a golden double in cricket at the Asian Games 2026 after the men's team beat Pakistan by 19 runs in the final at Nisshin on Saturday. The women's team had already secured gold earlier in the week, marking the second consecutive Asian Games where India won both titles.
India's men posted 211 for six with Abhishek Sharma scoring 61 off 28 balls and Tilak Varma remaining unbeaten on 51 off 22. Pakistan managed 192 for six despite Hasan Nawaz's 96 off 51 balls.
The victory marked India's seventh successive T20I win over Pakistan since 2021 and their second consecutive Asian Games gold in men's cricket after Hangzhou 2023.

The double gold reflects India's structural advantage in both formats at the continental level, where squad depth and preparation edges are decisive.
