Virat Kohli scored his 48th ODI century during India's match against Bangladesh at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. The right-hander remained unbeaten on 103 off 97 balls as India chased down Bangladesh's 256 for eight. Kohli reached the landmark with a six off Nasum Ahmed in the 42nd over.

The century brought Kohli within one of equalling Sachin Tendulkar's record of 49 ODI hundreds. He also completed 26,000 runs in international cricket during the innings. The knock included six fours and four sixes.

Kohli equalled Shikhar Dhawan's record of three ODI World Cup centuries with the innings. He also scored his third ODI hundred in Pune and his first World Cup hundred while chasing a target.

CricHubb Take

Kohli's consistency in World Cup matches against associate nations masks his struggles against stronger attacks. The record chase came against a Bangladesh side that offered little resistance after posting 256.
