Anshul Kamboj replaces injured Prasidh Krishna for final West Indies ODI

Kamboj called up after Prasidh’s hamstring injury; Sundar rested ahead of New Zealand Tests.

Anshul Kamboj was added to India’s ODI squad as a replacement for Prasidh Krishna ahead of the third match against the West Indies. Krishna suffered a left hamstring injury in the second ODI and could bowl only five overs.

Kamboj was playing for India A against Australia A in Puducherry when he received the call. He made his ODI debut in Mullanpur on Saturday.

Washington Sundar was also withdrawn from the T20I squad for the upcoming series against the West Indies to prepare for the Test tour of New Zealand. Naman Dhir replaced him.

CricHubb Take

The rotation of Sundar shows the Test squad now takes scheduling precedence over white-ball continuity. Kamboj’s inclusion tests whether the selectors view him as a short-term fix or a longer-term option.
