Xavier Bartlett took four wickets to give Queensland control of their Sheffield Shield match against South Australia at Adelaide Oval. The Bulls reached 238 in their first innings before Bartlett reduced the home side to 7 for 104 at stumps, a lead of 69 runs with three wickets remaining.

Bartlett dismissed Henry Hunt, Jake Weatherald, Nathan McSweeney and Jake Lehmann. Cameron Gannon supported with two wickets after taking five in the first innings. Jem Ryan took two quick wickets to further damage South Australia's position.

Jack Clayton top-scored for Queensland with 66 runs. Brendan Doggett took three wickets for South Australia while Nathan McAndrew claimed two.

CricHubb Take

Bartlett's ability to swing the ball away from right-handers has created consistent edges that slip fielders are holding. The movement he generates on this surface suggests Queensland's first-innings total may prove more than adequate if the pitch remains true.
